GYOKURO KARIGANE JADE DEW ~ 2024

from $6.00

If I was forced to pick one green tea to drink for the rest of my life, which is a horrible proposition, it would be this one.

It is made from the leaf stems of our shade grown Gyokuro Jade Dew, which basically means it has all the savory umami goodness of that tea, and a good bit of the heaven sent, brain soothing, amino acid L-theanine, but is slightly lighter/brighter, a little sweeter, even easier drinking, more herbaceous, and so green and delicious.

[For a little more technical info on L-theanine and the magic of shade grown teas visit the Gyokuro Jade Dew product page…]

Tasting Notes: Bright green, full flavored yet soft and sweet (when appropriately brewed), the perfect balance of savory umami brothiness with sweet grassy vegetalness. A very easy tea to drink all afternoon, and sure to satisfy if you enjoy good Japanese green teas.

Origin: Uji, Kyoto, Japan

Preparation:

Use 1 ½ Tablespoon of tea leaves per 8-12 oz of 140-158º water. Steep 1 ½ - 2 minutes. Good for three delicious infusions. If this method is too rich, simply use less tea leaves.

Gently Caffeinated
